2 Teenagers Accused Of Armed Robbery In New London: Police
The Monday afternoon incident resulted in the 62-year-old victim suffering injuries that are not a threat to his life.
NEW LONDON, CT — A 62-year-old man was injured Monday when he tried to stop a pair of armed teenagers from stealing his vehicle in New London, according to police.
The teens eventually were caught, but not before the victim, who had jumped on the hood of his vehicle, was driven a short distance before being thrown off the hood as the teens drove off.
He was treated at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for injuries that are not considered to be a threat to his life.

The incident began at about 1 p.m. when New London police were alerted of an armed robbery. Officers found the injured victim lying on the sidewalk on Colman Street.
As a precaution, schools in the area were temporarily placed on lockdown until the two suspects were caught.

Police said the man had been parking his vehicle when he was robbed of the keys to the vehicle by a pair of armed teenagers.
As the assailants tried to drive off, the man stood in the way and ended up on the hood. The teens sped off with the victim on the hood from the Colman Street/Walden Avenue area to the Colman Street/Garfield Avenue area where he fell off.
Officers found the abandoned vehicle in the Lincoln Avenue/Lincoln Court area, and spotted the teens who tried to run away before they were apprehended, according to authorities.
Police found a BB gun in their possession.
The two teens, aged 16 and 14, were charged with robbery, breach of peace and tampering with evidence violations, and the 16-year-old also was charged with assaulting an elderly person, third-degree larceny, evading responsibility and other violations.
Their identities were not released due to their ages.
