2nd Annual Buddy Ride Poker Run and Car Show to Take Place in New London

Motorcycles and cars take over City Piers at Waterfront Park to raise money for Wounded Warrior Project and American Cancer Society.

Former QSR Steel employee Henry “Bud” Destremps left such a lasting impact on the company that the Connecticut business is holding its second annual fundraiser in honor of him. The Buddy Ride Poker Run: Pigs on the Pier and Car Show will take place on Saturday, September 19th in New London, CT. The event will raise money for two great causes: the American Cancer Society and the Wounded Warriors Project.

“Bud,” as they called him passed away two years ago from Cancer. Since then, QSR Steel’s owner Glenn Salamone decided that he was going to do what he could to make a difference in the community by raising awareness for these two important causes. All proceeds from the event will equally benefit the American Cancer Society and the Wounded Warrior Project.

“Bud was a loving, caring family man,” said Glenn, Salamone, Owner of QSR Steel. “He rode his bike to work in the rain or snow. Bud would lead the pack, but never leave a rider behind. And now, this is our time to lead on and leave no one behind which is why we chose to ride for the Wounded Warrior Project. It serves the warriors who served our country. We also are riding for the American Cancer Society for their efforts in trying to eradicate the disease that not only took Bud, but countless others that we have known and loved,” said Salamone.
