4-Year-Old, Teenager Shot in New London on Memorial Day
The suspects are still at-large, police said.

A 4-year-old and a 17-year-old were hit by bullets not meant for them, New London Police Deputy Chief Peter Reichard said via a press release.
The alleged shooting occurred in the area of 40 Crystal Ave. at approximately 9:52 p.m. Monday, May 25.
New London Police received several 911 calls reporting a shooting and when they arrived, they found the two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

The 17-year-old was shot in the upper arm and the injury is not life-threatening, Reichard said. The 4-year-old sustained a graze wound.
“The injury was described as a very minor graze wound, possibly from a bullet,” according to the press release.

Reichard said the alleged shooters “apparently were shooting at another person, when the two victims were accidentally struck.”
The New London Police Detectives and V.I.S. are actively investigating the situation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the New London Detective Division at 860-447-1481. Information will be held confidential, Reichard said.
