7-Eleven Badly Damaged In New London Fire: Reports
A fire at a New London store overnight is under investigation.
NEW LONDON, CT — A fire at a 7-Eleven in New London early Thursday morning is under investigation, according to reports. The call for the fire at the 283 Broad St. store came in at about 2 a.m.
The store was open at the time of the fire. A manager was there when the fire began but didn't know how it started. The manager walked outside, smelled smoke, then realized the building was on fire, WFSB 3-TV reported.
The fire then spread inside the store. The manager cut off gas to the station's pumps. It's unclear how the fire started.

The blaze resulted in extensive damage to the store, according to WTNH News-8.
Fire departments from Waterford, Groton, the Sub Base, and Poquonnock responded and had the fire under control by 4 a.m.

No injuries were reported.
The Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
