After Abusive Past, Chloe Has a Hopeful Future
A four-month-old kitten's leg was broken by children, prompting Animal Control to issue a plea for donations that poured in from all over.

When 4-month-old Chloe the kitten was rescued by New London Animal Control, she had a broken humerus.A sad story but the cause of the injury was shocking to those who read her tale. Children in the neighborhood she called home reportedly abused the kitten in an undisclosed way, causing her leg to break, according to Animal Control.
The fund to help rescued animals only contained enough to euthanize Chloe â an avenue Animal Control did not want to take. Other options were splinting the leg, amputating or undergoing surgery to repair the break.
Without the funds to do the other three options, Animal Control reached out for help and asked for donations for Chloeâs care.

And donate you did.
âBecause of all the amazing people who donated money and shared her story, Chloe will have surgery to save her leg, rather than remove it,â New London Animal Control said via Facebook. âWeâve had donations come in from literally all over the country (Washington, Texas, Ohio, and Arizona to name a couple of states) and we are simply overwhelmed by how many people cared about this little girl.â

Her splint was changed over the weekend and surgery with an orthopedic vet will be scheduled soon.
âThere arenât enough words for us to express our gratitude to everyone,â Animal Control wrote. âAlso, please rest assured that once Chloeâs bills are all paid, any funds left over will stay in our account at the vet to help the next animals who need a little help.â
