Alleged Axe Attack Results in Arrest
New London Police arrested one man on an assault charge and carrying a dangerous weapon.

New London Police Department officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at 32 Hempstead St. on Monday, Nov. 17.
According to New London Police Deputy Chief Peter Reichard, suspect Mtume Umrani, 27, was reportedly attempting to allegedly assault someone with an axe.
Officers located the victim, who Reichard said had a non-life threatening injury sustained during the altercation from a pickaxe. Umrani was arrested and charged with assault in the second degree and carrying a dangerous weapon, according to police.
