NEW LONDON, CT — President Donald Trump will deliver the keynote address at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy commencement.
He previously gave the commencement address at the Coast Guard in 2017.
Trump is expected to speak at 11 a.m. at Cadet Memorial Field, WTNH News-8 reported. The event is not open to the public.
Parking restrictions and road closures are anticipated around the presidential visit.
Designated public assembly areas will be at McKinley Park and the grass parcel on Williams Street just past the overpass.
The president will congratulate the cadets, the newest generation of military leaders for the Coast Guard, on their hard work and dedication, according to a Coast Guard statement.
Last year, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem delivered the commencement address at the academy.
The ceremony will be broadcast live on the U.S. Coast Guard Academy's website.
