Parking, Gathering Restrictions In Place For U.S. Coast Guard Graduation In New London

President Donald Trump will speak at the commencement Wednesday.

NEW LONDON, CT — Police are advising residents about parking and public gathering restrictions during the U.S. Coast Guard Academy graduation ceremony Wednesday.

Presidents Donald Trump will be the keynote speaker at commencement. The ceremony is not open to the public.

No parking will be allowed on the following streets beginning at 5 a.m. Wednesday:

  • River Ridge Road
  • Deshon Street
  • Nameaug Avenue
  • Oneco Avenue
  • Farnsworth Street
  • Winchester Road
  • Uncas Avenue
  • Williams Street under 95 overpass
  • Williams Street between Briggs Street and Gordon Street
  • Crystal Ave. from 309 Crystal Ave. to Williams Street
  • Riverside Heights Road
  • Route 32 Northbound or Southbound

The restrictions will remain in effect until later in the day at the discretion of police.

Riverside Park will also be closed to the public beginning at 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Members of the public will be allowed to assemble only at McKinley Park and the grass parcel on Williams Street just past the overpass.
