Movies, art, and a mix of other events on the New London Patch calendar and New London Main Street calendar are offering people a chance to get out and have fun in the coming week.
TDP Art Studio has been especially active on our events page, letting us know about a series of classes all starting at 7 p.m. A wine glass painting workshop takes place on Wednesday, followed by canvas classes for “Sun Rays” on Thursday, “Lovely Tree” on Friday, and “Cape Cods” on Saturday; check out the listings for more information on prices. In other art courses, LQM Gallery is offering summer youth workshops as well as portrait, live model, and Chinese Ink painting classes; more information on their website.
For art exhibits, it’s your last chance to catch Patti and Kat Murphy’s “It’s A Banner Day” and Do The Write Thing’s “Picture My World” at Hygienic Art as well as Robert Hauschild’s “The Art of Trains” at Studio 33. These shows are all ending on Saturday, and Studio 33 will bring in paintings by Aleksandr Trachishin on Tuesday. Ongoing shows include Danielle Campins’ “In-formed” at Expressiones and Matthew Cassar’s work at Spirit Gallery.
