Body Recovered From Pond Identified As Missing Snowmobiler: DEEP
DEEP officials said a body recovered from a pond in Griswold has been identified.

GRISWOLD, CT — The body of a missing Griswold man, who went missing back in December was recovered on Tuesday and identified on Wednesday, state officials said. The body was recovered Tuesday from Pachaug Pond, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) officials said.
DEEP officials said the body has been identified as John Dubois, 56, of Griswold, who had gone missing on Dec. 16, 2017 while snowmobiling on Pachaug Pond. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, according to a news release.
DEEP Environmental Conservation (EnCon) police officers responded Tuesday after a member of the public reported seeing a body on the surface of the pond, officials said.

Members of the Griswold and Jewett City Volunteer Fire Department recovered the remains of an adult male, which was then transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, officials said.
