Budget Proposal Passed By New London School Board
A $69.9 million budget proposal was passed by the city's school board.

NEW LONDON, CT — A revised $69.9 million budget was passed by the city's school board Monday, the New London Day reported. Officials said the proposal is an increase of 4.56 percent over the current budget.
According to the Day, the $69,946,023 proposal will partly depend on a $45.5 million request from the city’s general fund. The overall request is funded partly through the state Educational Cost Sharing Grant, however it still equates to a more than $2.5 million increase in taxpayer funding.
Officials said the district had not seen a significant increase in funding over the past few years despite rising enrollment and other factors, according to the Day.
