Budget Proposed For New London With 3 Percent Increase: Report
Mayor Michael Passero presented a proposed budget during his annual state of the city speech.

NEW LONDON, CT — A proposed $91.8 million budget was presented by Mayor Michael Passero during his annual state of the city speech, which was passed on to the City Council on Monday, the New London Day reported.
According to the Day, Passero's spending plan shows a 3.16 percent increase in spending compared to the current budget. He also said it provides a 4.95 percent increase for city government spending and includes funding for one additional police officer.
Passero said it also includes cuts to many departments, as well as the elimination of three positions, according to the Day. The council has scheduled a series of finance committee meetings to begin budget deliberations.
