Spark Makerspace

Make a colorful, hand-stitched fabric bowl using simple sewing techniques.
Students
 will fashion a fabric bowl by overlapping colorful scraps, using the 
beginner-friendly running stitch. In zen fashion, bits of fabric will be
 hand-sewn with embroidery floss to create a useful bowl that looks 
extra special when it is part of a collection.
No sewing machine required.
Ages: 12yr-Adults
All materials included.
These
 bowls are so easy to make that students will be able to explore 
different ways to make them more personal. It is a no-stress, relaxing 
experience.
This class is made possible by the support of The Dime Bank Foundation and Charter Oak Federal Credit Union.

Have
 you ever wanted to make a particular item but had no idea how to do it?
 So, you went to the store or online and purchased a pattern to make it.
 What could be simpler, right? Now you have the pattern but are 
completely baffled by all the information and don't know where to begin!
 Or, maybe you didn't even buy the pattern at all because when you 
looked at it, it was so overwhelming. This class will help to 
demystify patterns! Once you understand how to read the pattern, you 
will have a much easier time creating your project.
, NOTE: *
 No sewing skills or previous experience is needed. This is NOT a sewing
 class; we will be covering how to understand and follow a pattern, but 
we will not be sewing anything. * If you 
already have a pattern that you would like help in understanding, feel 
free to bring it. Otherwise, we will have patterns for use during class.

Studio 33 Art & Frame Gallery

Studio 33 Art &amp; Frame Gallery has extended the "An Artist's Journey" exhibit featuring new work from local artist Tyler Allyn. Tyler will be in the gallery for a meet and greet on June 6, 2026 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The event will coincide with the 2nd of the First Saturday New London events in Downtown New London. Tyler Allyn is a self-taught artist working out of a private studio in southeastern CT supported by a close-knit family environment. Tyler began his artistic journey through art therapy during a period marked by significant medical challenges where chronic pain and isolation left him in a dark place. Through art therapy, he discovered a powerful emotional outlet utilizing various mediums. This exploration led him to acrylic paint pouring where he discovered various techniques such as Dutch pour, Swipe pour, Dirty pour to express his inner experiences. His work reflects deeply personal struggles while transforming them into movement and color on the canvas. Through painting, Tyler has found not only healing, but a renewed sense of purpose; “Through painting I release what I carry inside – Each piece is a reflection of struggle, healing, and the search for light and purpose” The gallery is also offering a sale on selected merchandise 20% to 50% off!Studio 33 Art &amp; Frame Gallery, a fixture of downtown New London, CT since 1979. Rustic-chic private farm venue in scenic Stonington, CT 

Deans Mill Farm 

Built in the mid-1700s as a functioning livestock farm, Deans Mill Farm has gone through an evolution in recent decades. A full renovation of the historic buildings and rejuvenation of the surrounding 70+ acres has made the property into the incredible venue it is today. Deans Mill Farm now operates primarily as a private event space and five-room bed and breakfast tucked down a private road in Stonington, Connecticut. It shares its property with Dragonfly Equestrian Center and is home to dozens of horses. On the property lies meadows, hiking trails, beautiful fields and Dragonfly Disc Golf. The property can be rented for weddings, birthday parties and other special events. Additionally, the bed and breakfast can be rented by the room or reserved in its entirety for complete privacy. The Farm has the ability to host small private indoor events for up to 50 guests in the Farmhouse.
