Studio 33 Art &amp; Frame Gallery presents New London Found, mixed media artwork by Maurene Kennedy; created with antique and vintage ephemera and found objects, regarding historic, and original to, New London. Opens Wed. 1 Jul 2026,10:00-4:00 pm, on view through the end of August. Maurene studied at Lyme Academy of Fine Arts, Lyme Art Association, Mystic Museum of Art, and Three Rivers Community College where she also earned a certificate in Graphic and Communication Arts. She was Artist in Residence under the Urban Artists Initiative, Institute for Community Research, Connecticut Commission on the Arts. Maurene has worked in the arts field at Lyman Allyn Art Museum, Hygienic Art Gallery, The Tsetse Gallery, Garde Arts Center Institute For Creativity, and Studio 33 Art &amp; Frame Gallery. She currently serves as Member At Large of the New London Arts Council.

Spark Makerspace

Learn how to make your own cutting board in this 2-part class (Monday, 7/6 &amp; 7/13, 5:30-8:30 p.m.).
Beginner-Level Woodshop Class
Students will build a wooden cutting board. Students will start with mixed strips of wood and will glue, flatten, shape, groove, and finish the cutting board. This is a two-session class (7/6 &amp; 7/13), and at the end of the second class, students will take their project home.
This class will provide tool certification for Spark Makerspace Members who demonstrate safe usage of the tools. (chop saw, router, &amp; planer). Because of the generous support of the Frank Loomis Palmer Fund, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee, the price of our certification classes has been greatly subsidized. Making them more affordable to our membership.

Take this beginner-level Stained Glass workshop and create an air plant holder.
This stained glass project is designed for first-timers and experienced glass artists alike.
 A great class to take with a friend and MAKE together. A simple yet 
elegant design, these air plant holders bring the tranquility of nature 
indoors and soothing color to a sunny window. A live air plant is 
included to make your creation complete and a perfect gift! The holders 
are designed and intended to be hung.
In this workshop, you will learn to score glass, grind, foil, and solder. Sign up to make your air plant holder today!
Be sure to bring your lunch with you. There will not be enough time to get food off-site. Please note: sufficient
 hand dexterity and the ability to stand while working with tools are 
required. There will be a class break; bringing a snack/lunch is

Learn
 how to Screen Print at Spark! We'll take you through the whole process 
of creating a one-color print, and you'll take home prints of your own 
design! This class covers successful design elements, creating the 
screen using the photographic process, printing on fabric and paper, and
 how to reuse your silkscreen.
For Members, this class will certify you to use the screen-printing equipment independently.
This class is intended for students ages 14+.

Learn how to create your own custom wooden picture frame! No prior woodworking experience is required.
Learn
 how to frame your fine art in a custom wooden frame. Students will 
start with a hardwood board and turn it into an 8 x 10 picture frame to 
take home.
Students will use the router table to create
 the frame profile, then use table saw jigs to create accurate miter 
joints. After gluing the frame, students will reinforce the frame 
corners, cut plexiglass and backer board, and finish sand the frame.
Students
 will take home all the supplies required to put a protective finish on 
the frame, install a picture, and hang the frame on the wall.
Spark Members: This class does not include any tool certifcations.
No prior woodworking experience is required.

Rustic-chic private farm venue in scenic Stonington, CT 

Deans Mill Farm 

Built in the mid-1700s as a functioning livestock farm, Deans Mill Farm has gone through an evolution in recent decades. A full renovation of the historic buildings and rejuvenation of the surrounding 70+ acres has made the property into the incredible venue it is today. Deans Mill Farm now operates primarily as a private event space and five-room bed and breakfast tucked down a private road in Stonington, Connecticut. It shares its property with Dragonfly Equestrian Center and is home to dozens of horses. On the property lies meadows, hiking trails, beautiful fields and Dragonfly Disc Golf. The property can be rented for weddings, birthday parties and other special events. Additionally, the bed and breakfast can be rented by the room or reserved in its entirety for complete privacy.
