Card Skimmer Found At Supermarket In New London: Police

Card skimmers are devices that illegally capture credit and debit card information.

NEW LONDON, CT — A card skimmer was recently discovered at NSA Supermarket in New London, and police are warning residents and customers who frequent the South Frontage Road store to check their financial card information, and alert their bank if they find any suspicious activity.

Card skimmers are devices that illegally capture credit and debit card information, and in recent months, the devices have been found in other parts of Connecticut.

"Everyone should keep in mind that more fraudulent card skimmers may be placed at various locations, and not just the ones where they have already been detected and removed," New London police wrote in a statement. "We encourage everyone to stay vigilant and report any suspicious devices or activities at payment terminals. Your cooperation is invaluable in assisting law enforcement in investigating these matters."
