Chelsea Groton Bank Robbed, Suspect On The Run
At around 3:45 p.m., a stocky man with walked into the bank, handed the teller a note, and fled with $650. He said he was armed.

NEW LONDON, CT — The Chelsea Groton Savings Bank was robbed Thursday afternoon by an armed man, police said. The man described as having salt and pepper facial hair showed the teller a note, and said he had a weapon, though it was not shown, police said. He fled with around $650, police said.
Police said it was around 3:45 p.m., when a 911 call came in from the bank on Montauk Avenue. The man was gone when police arrived.
The suspected bank robber is described as a white and/or Hispanic male, stocky build, with 'salt & pepper' facial hair, wearing a dark colored hooded sweat shirt and pants.
