New London Gets Strict on Parking, Prepares for Visit from President Trump

New London officials anticipate record crowds and demonstrations in response to President Trump's arrival.

NEW LONDON, CT - The city is tightening its rules on parking in anticipation of a visit from the President, the New London Day reported. Police said the city is still developing its security protocol for the highly anticipated date.

President Trump will pay a visit to the city on May 17 to speak at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy graduation, according to the New London Day. Police said no permits will be issued to any group until officers have consulted with the U.S. Secret Service, according to the New London Day. Police and city officials said they are trying to err on the side of caution in this situation.
