Claims Of Racial Abuse Hit Coast Guard Academy In New London: Report
A Connecticut state representative is calling for an investigation.

NEW LONDON, CT — Accusations that racial abuse has not been adequately dealt with at United States Coast Guard Academy in New London has prompted state Rep. Chris Soto (D-39th) to call for an investigation into the claims, reports The Day.
Soto, who represents New London, is a 2003 graduate of the academy and called for the probe this week following a recent report in The Day chronicling alleged racial abuse observed and experienced by some recruits.
In 2012, the academy was named one of the 50 best colleges in the U.S. by TheBestSchools.org.
