The Coast Guard Academy softball team finished up its Florida games on Saturday with a perfect record, while the baseball team lost their final game in the Sunshine State to Haverford College. In indoor track, senior Carl Luxjoj earned his third All-American honor. The following information was provided by the Coast Guard Athletic Department:
Softball: Coast Guard 2, Rowan 1; Coast Guard 5, Wisconsin-Platteville 0
Coast Guard, ranked 14th nationally, ran its winning streak to ten to start the season finishing a school-record and perfect 10-0 at the Rebel Games to start the season with a 2-1 win over Rowan University and a 5-0 win over the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
Junior All-American Hayley Feindel allowed her first run of the season in the fifth inning of the opener. Feindel threw 55 consecutive scoreless inning to start the season.
Rowan led 1-0 before the Bears answered with two runs in the home half of the fifth on a two-run double by sophomore Megan Cook. Freshman Devin Fellman had two hits including a double for Coast Guard.
Feindel scattered five hits, walked two and struck out nine in the game one win.
In the final game of the trip, junior Maddie Buchert had two hits, two runs scored and two stolen bases while senior All-American Amanda Frederick had two hits and an RBI to lead the Bears offense.
Feindel allowed just two hits, walked one and struck out 15 to improve to 10-0 on the season with eight shutouts. She has allowed just one run in 65 innings this season.

Baseball: Haverford 11, Coast Guard 3
Haverford College pounded out 14 hits and remained unbeaten on the season with a 11-3 win over Coast Guard in the final game at the Gene Cusic Classic for both teams.
Coast Guard trailed 3-0 before scoring three times in the third on RBI ground outs by sophomores Tyler Babkiewich and Nolan Gallagher and an RBI single by classmate Mike Massaro, who continued his red hot hitting as went 3 for 4 for the third straight game.
Haverford scored twice in the fourth and three more in the fifth as the Ford scored eight unanswered runs for the win.
Sophomore Cameron Carroll added a pair of hits for the Bears, who return from Florida with a 5-3 record.
Sophomore Nate Toll was touched for eight runs, five earned in 5 2/3 innings to take the loss. Classmate Derek Petty pitched 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief while scattering four hits.

Indoor Track
Senior Carl Luxhoj placed fifth in a field of 13 competitors at the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships to earn All-America honors for the third time in his career.
Luxhoj's first jump of 14.67 meters (48 feet 1.75 inches) in the trials, earned him a spot in the finals where he posted his second best jump of 14.57 meters (47 feet 9.75 inches).
His second best jump secured the fifth place finish over Wesleyan University's Tommy Lark who also jumped 14.67.
Luxhoj's fifth place finish earned him All-America accolades - the third of his athletic career at the Coast Guard Academy.
In 2009, Luxhoj finished third in the long jump and eighth in the triple jump at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
