NEWINGTON, Conn. (December 7, 2015) – On Thursday, December 3rd, the Connecticut Humane Society hosted a breakfast and shelter tour for Connecticut State Legislators at its Newington Headquarters. Representatives Russ Morin, D-Wethersfield, Rick Lopes, D-New Britain and Newington, Brian Becker, D-West Hartford, Avon and Farmington, Gary Byron, R-Newington, and Mike Dimicco, D-Farmington joined Connecticut Humane Society board members and executive staff to learn all about the programs and services the organization provides to pets and people in the community; programs such as the Pet Food Pantry, pet adoption, pet intake, Fox Memorial Clinic which offers low-fee veterinary care and the Animal Control Assistance Program which offers free medical services to pets in municipal shelters.

The Connecticut Humane Society is honored to collaborate so closely with the state’s legislators in order to continually improve conditions for companion animals all across Connecticut. Without their advocacy on behalf of the constituents in their districts, the animals would not have a chance. The Connecticut Humane Society is grateful for their hard work, day in and day out, to make life better for Connecticut’s four-legged residents and the people who love them.
