Man Seriously Injured In New London Construction Accident
Emergency crews responded to a call regarding an overturned construction lift with injuries.

NEW LONDON, CT — A construction accident in New London on Monday afternoon left a 54-year-old man seriously injured, according to The New London Day.
Governor Winthrop Boulevard was partially closed from about noon until 2:20 p.m.
The City of New London posted the following on Facebook: "A Construction Accident on Governor Winthrop Blvd, behind the Garde Arts Center. An overturned construction lift with injuries. Fire, Police, and OSHA are investigating. Governor Winthrop Blvd is partially shut down, and traffic is being rerouted. The public is advised to avoid that area if possible."

Fire officials said that a scissor lift had toppled onto the man, who was transported to the hospital by Lawrence and Memorial paramedics, according to The New London Day. The accident is under investigation.
