Council Votes To Raise Next New London Mayor's Salary: Report

NEW LONDON, CT — On Monday, the City Council voted to raise the next mayor's salary by $24,000, raising it from $86,000 to $110,000, the New London Day reported. Though higher, the number is still a decrease from the $135,000 salary considered by the council at their last meeting.

According to the New London Day, the new salary will go into effect after next year's mayoral election. The raise was approved by a vote of 4-2. (To sign up for New London breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
