CT Veteran Accepts More than $400,000 for Dog Attack on Eve of Trial

He told investigators that the experience was worse than anything he experienced overseas.

NEW LONDON, CT - A Connecticut veteran who was attacked by two pit bulls has agreed a settlement of $422,018 in a lawsuit case, The Connecticut Law Tribune reported.

Mitchell Ducharme, 25, of Lebanon was mauled by two pit bull mix guard dogs when he went to visit his step brother at a Willimantic junkyard, according to the CT Law Tribune. The attack lasted for about ten minutes.

The victim agreed to the settlement on January 25, the same day jury selection for the case was set to take place, the CT Law Tribune reported. He told investigators that the experience was worse than anything he experienced overseas in Afghanistan.
