Police learned that Nolan had fled to the adjacent Clarion Inn Hotel. Police searched that hotel looking for Nolan and found him in room 221.

A person in the room allowed police inside. Nolan pressed himself against the window "in an apparent effort to escape so as to elude arrest," according to the report.
