WALK 2014 will raise critical funds to support care of patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families.  Funds also make it possible for Center for Hospice Care to provide bereavement counseling to anyone in New London County, free of charge, regardless of whether they have had someone on our program.

This year’s WALK spokesperson, Dan Deptulski, has walked for the last three years in memory of his mother as part of Kathy’s Krew. “On May 10th, my family will walk in celebration of Mom’s life and to help raise funds so that others can receive the gift of hospice care for their loved ones as well.  Mom truly looked forward to the visits from her caregivers, and it would have been nearly impossible for us to care for her at home without the guidance and support we received.  We will always be grateful for the quality of Mom's end of life, and for the time we were able to enjoy with her before her passing.”

Anyone from the community can walk individually or build their own team of friends, family members or co-workers.  Walk in memory of a loved one or simply come out to support Center for Hospice Care and the over 1,100 patients, families and loved ones served each year.  Registration, organizing a team and fundraising are easy – just visit www.hospicesect.kintera.org/2014

WALK 2014 is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.  All proceeds stay right here in Southeastern Connecticut helping our neighbors, friends and loved ones.  If you cannot join us on that day, you can still raise funds for the event or support a walker.  For more information, email events@hospicesect.org or call (860) 848-5699.
