Elderly Pedestrian In Critical Condition After New London Accident: PD
A vehicle struck a woman walking across a shopping center parking lot Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

NEW LONDON, CT — An elderly woman is in critical condition following an accident in New London on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
Police responded to a report of a car vs. pedestrian accident at the New London Shopping Center parking lot off South Frontage Road at 12:18 p.m.
A vehicle struck an 88-year-old woman as she walked across the lot leaving one of the shopping center's businesses.

Police provided medical aid until the arrival of the New London Fire Department and Yale New Haven Hospital Paramedic.
The woman suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was taken to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for treatment. She is currently in critical condition.

The 25-year-old woman driving the vehicle remained at the scene of the accident and is cooperating with police.
