Election 2016 Results: New London Vote Totals for President, U.S. Senate and Local Races
On Wednesday morning, full election results and numbers were released for all races that residents voted on.

NEW LONDON, CT — On Election Night, 72.58 percent of residents preferred Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump, Gary Johnson and Jill Stein.
According to the CT Secretary of State election center updated via 10 a.m. Wednesday, 6,305 residents voted for Clinton and 1,924 voted for Trump. Johnson additionally received 217 votes, while Stein received 237.
In the race for U.S. Senate, Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., amassed 5,883 as a Democratic candidate and 542 as a Working Families Party candidate.

Republican candidate Dan Carter meanwhile received 1,314 votes. The race was rounded out with 146 votes for Richard Lion and 219 votes for Jefferey Russell.
Democrat Joe Courtney crushed Republican candidate Daria Novak in the 2nd Congressional District race, with Courtney earning 6,518 votes on multiple lines. Novak amassed 1,166 votes, while Libertarian Daniel Reale received 111 votes and Green Party candidate Jonathan Pelto received 285.

In the race for 20th Senatorial District, Republican candidate Paul M. Formica declared victory over Democratic candidate Ryan Henowitz. In New London, however, Formica only garnered 2,388 votes as a Republican candidate and 401 votes as an Independent candidate, while Henowitz amassed 4,716 votes as a Democratic candidate and 353 votes as a Working Families Party candidate.
In the 39th State House District, Democratic candidate Chris Soto was able to easily win out over Green Party candidate Ronna Stuller and Petitioning Candidate Andrew Lockwood. Soto garnered 4,904 votes, while Stuller and Lockwood received 440 and 517 votes respectively.
In the 41st State House District, Democratic candidate Joe de la Cruz ousted Republican incumbent Aundre Bumgardner. De la Cruz earned 1,054 votes as a Democratic candidate and 99 votes as a Working Families Party canddiate, while Bumgardner received 760 votes as a Republican candidate and 71 votes as an Independent candidate.
