Fire At New London Home Under Investigation

The blaze hit a New London home over the weekend, according to the firefighters' union.

NEW LONDON, CT — A home was damaged in a fire over the weekend, according to New London Firefighters, IAFF Local 1522.

Firefighters were dispatched to 29 Wall St. at 3 p.m. Saturday for a reported structure fire.

Firefighters arrived at the home and found smoke showing from the first floor and active fire coming from the living room area.

Those in the home escaped before the fire department arrived.

The Sub Base Fire Department, Poquonnock Bridge Fire Department, Waterford Fire, and Groton EMS all responded as well.

The Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the blaze.
