Fox the Dog Needs a Home

New London residents: Anyone interested in adopting Fox may contact Ledyard Animal Control.

I have been made aware that Fox is looking for a forever home. He has been in the care of the same vet tech from All Friends since he was found and she loves him. But, she feels that he is doing well enough now that he deserves a family that can take care of him and love his throughout his golden years.

All of us know, Fox is a special needs boy as he is a senior and because of his hips he requires daily meds for the pain and inflammation. Surgery is not an option for him so he just needs to be comfortable and the medication helps him stay that way.

He can get around and is able to go out to go potty. He cannot do stairs, walk for prolonged periods, or jump off couches or beds. If there are stairs he will have to be carried up and down them and he weighs about 35 lbs. Hardwood floors are difficult due to lack of traction but he does well will lots of rugs scattered about.

He currently lives with a dog (who is also a senior) and a cat. Another dog is okay but it will have to be one that is calm or older as Fox is unable to romp and play. Smaller children might not work as well as he could be easily hurt if handled incorrectly or knocked over as he is not as stable on his feet because of his hips. This boy is a love and deserves a home that keep him loved and kept safe for the years he has remaining.
