Groton Teen Found Dead In New London Home Identified: Police

A teen who died over the weekend has been identified. Two other people were hospitalized for treatment of their injuries.

NEW LONDON, CT — Police have identified a 17-year-old who was found unresponsive in a New London home and later pronounced deceased. Police and fire personnel found Dnazia Uzzle, of Groton, unresponsive at a home in the area of Jefferson Avenue and Buchanan Road on Saturday at 3:09 a.m.

She was transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital and pronounced deceased. A ruling on the cause and manner of death from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is pending.

Two other people from the same home were transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. A 40-year-old and a 19-year-old were both treated for stab wounds.

The New London County States Attorney's Office, the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are assisting with the investigation.
