Hot Rod Café Supports The New London Soccer Club in August
New London's destination for wings, beer and atmosphere will donate proceeds to local athletic organization throughout the month of August
NEW LONDON, Conn. (July 28, 2014) – Hot Rod Café, located at 114 Bank Street in New London, is supporting The New London Soccer Club throughout the month of August. The campaign kicks off on Monday, August 11th from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. as Hot Rod Café will donate 20% of all food sales to the organization in order to help with uniforms, equipment, and other resources. Then, for the remaining days of the month, a donation jar will be located at the bar for guests to show their support and donate to this worthy organization. And as each person makes a donation, guests will have the opportunity to show others their support simply by writing their name on stars, which will decorate the walls of Hot Rod’s throughout the month of August. Donations will be accepted in increments of $1, $5, $10, and $20.
The New London (Connecticut) Soccer Club is a non-profit organization that functions with volunteer coaches and administrators. It operates under the general auspices of the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA). The Club is open to all youth players ages 3 to 14 in the town of New London. Home games and practices are at Calkins Field, Riverview Avenue, New London. The Club consists of over 250 New London youth.
The mission of the New London Soccer Club is to promote the sport of soccer while encouraging fair play and good sportsmanship. Our goal is to encourage positive mental and physical growth of our youth while attaining and improving soccer skills and building friendships.

The New London Soccer Club offers a fall session which begins in early September and runs through the first week of November, and a spring session which runs from late April to early June. A winter session is offered in early January for players aged 3-8. One registration covers all three sessions, and players can participate in any or all sessions. A soccer camp for greater skill development is available in the summer in conjunction with CT Coast Soccer. Different registration and fees apply.
Hot Rod Cafe opens at 3:00 p.m. from Monday thru Wednesday and at 12 noon from Thursday to Sunday, and specializes in chicken wings in 24 different flavors. Other appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, and entrees are available as well. The dinner menu at Hot Rod’s features Crispy Shrimp & Pork Pot Stickers, The Intimidator Cheeseburger, Teriyaki Ginger Garlic Tender Beef Tips, Fish & Chips, Prime Rib, etc. The restaurant also features an extensive variety of 24 beers on tap as well as wines and specialty cocktails.
