Infinite Possibilities Public Art Project Begins Fundraising Campaign

30-foot bronze sculpture on Shore Rock Island at Ocean Beach Park, New London will be a beacon of light

The Board of Trustees of the Infinite Possibilities Public Art Project announced today the fundraising campaign for the installation of a 30-foot bronze sculpture on Shore Rock Island at Ocean Beach Park, New London, Connecticut.

The sculpture, Infinity, is a 21-foot Neo-classical style cast bronze female figure that holds aloft a 10-foot infinity loop. The stainless steel loop will be illuminated at night and will be a beacon of light that can be seen from the mouth of the Thames River, Long Island Sound, and from the shore at Ocean Beach Park.

The sculptor, Renee Rhodes said, "This gateway sculpture will attract visitors to the City of New London and provide inspiration and pride. This sculpture and this project are about awakening spirits, sending out a spark that can ignite other souls, and inspire the strength of spirit to RISE UP. Rather than state this outright, I am attempting to sculpt it and let the viewer take from it what they need personally."
