Kayak Regatta This Weekend; Police Urge Caution

A Kayak Regatta will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, August 16, in the upper part of the Niantic River.

A regional police boat will be on hand to control the wake from boats and jet ski’s, according to the Waterford Police Department.

“We request that if you are in the area to use caution,” police said.

Regatta Details

Those interested in participating are asked to meet the Goshen Fire Boat in front of Sandy Point in the Niantic River at 10 a.m. and follow it up river to hear The Denise Levasseur Walstra and Tony Walstra Band.

Free hot dogs from The Dock and free clam chowder from Flanders Fish are available. A portable bathroom facility will be available at 47 Oswegatchie Rd.
