Lighthouses and More: A Third Thursday Downtown New London Event
Studio 33 Art & Frame Gallery presents Lighthouses and More, the lighthouse and seascape paintings of CT Artists Robert Hauschild, Liz McGee, Lori McLain, and many more, on Thursday, April 21, 2016, 5:30 to 8:00 pm, 140 Bank St., Downtown, New London, CT. The first evening of the gallery and art-supporting businesses downtown walk events showcasing the artistic resources of New London, CT. Attendees provided with a map of participating galleries and businesses displaying artwork for the public to view, free of charge, from 5:30 to 8:00 pm on Third Thursday's every other month from April to November 2016. Join us for future Third Thursday's on June 16, August 18, and October 20, 2016. Studio 33 Art & Frame Gallery will be open all day Wednesday, April 20, 2016, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, for the Custom House Maritime Museum's 2016 Long Island Sound LIGHTHOUSE SYMPOSIUM. The meeting takes place next door at 150 Bank Street, from 12:00 to 5:00 pm. Meet historian Eric Jay Dolin, who will give a presentation about his new book Brilliant Beacons: A History of the American Lighthouse later that evening. An exhibition of David Zapatka's time-lapse photographs of regional lighthouses at night will be on view along with a permanent exhibition on lighthouses. A fund-raising event will follow: Dinner with Eric Jay Dolin, from 5:30 to 7 PM. A public program: 'An evening with Eric Jay Dolin', takes place at 7:30 PM.
