New London School Briefly On Lockdown Due To 'Potential Threat'

A New London high school was briefly on lockdown Monday morning. All staff and students are safe, according to police.

NEW LONDON, CT — A lockdown order went into effect at the New London High School Multi-Magnet Campus on Monday morning due to "a potential threat," according to police.

The lockdown was lifted less than an hour later.

Police posted the following on Facebook: "This morning at 9:41 a.m., the NLHSMMC went into lockdown out of an abundance of caution due to a potential threat. The New London Police Department responded immediately to the campus. The lockdown was lifted at 10:19 a.m. All staff and students are safe."
