Candidate for Congress and life-long New London resident Lori Hopkins-Cavanagh made an appearance at Sailfest Saturday afternoon.
Lori met with visitors and street vendors downtown. She took time to introduce herself, talk about the issues and ask for petition signatures to help get her on the Independent ballot. Hopkins-Cavanagh also made a quick stop at the Monte Cristo Book Store to talk with the owners.
Her campaign set up a small booth on State Street to hand out buttons, literature and gather petition signatures.
