Man Charged With Gun, Drug Crimes In New London: Police

A man is facing charges that he brandished a gun while in a vehicle with a woman. Police said the gun was reported stolen out of Georgia.

NEW LONDON, CT — A New Britain man has been charged with gun and drug crimes in New London.

Police received a call at 2:57 p.m. Thursday reporting a disturbance involving a man and a woman in a vehicle on Pearl Street. The man was reported to be brandishing a gun.

Police recovered a 9 mm gun from the man in the course of the investigation. They found the gun had been reported stolen out of Georgia.

Police also seized a gun safe containing a small amount of cocaine and ammunition.

The man was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a firearm/ammunition, theft of a firearm, violation of a protective order, and possession of narcotics.
