Man Charged With Murder In New London: Police

NEW LONDON, CT — The New London Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on February 15.

On Sunday, Feb. 15 at 7:19 PM, officers from the New London Police Department responded to the area of Connecticut Avenue between Prest and MacDonald streets in New London for a reported shooting incident, police said.

Following an investigation, Taquez Scott, 22, was arrested on April 2, 2026, and charged with:

• Murder
• Reckless Endangerment
• Illegal Discharge of a Firearm
• Illegal Possession of an Assault Weapon
• Criminal Possession of a Firearm

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
