Man Charged With Stealing Neighbor's Paycheck, Tax Refund: Police

New London police said they arrested a man charged with stealing his neighbor's tax refund and paychecks, totaling nearly $10,000.

NEW LONDON, CT - New London police said they arrested a man charged with stealing his neighbor’s tax refund and paychecks, the New London Day reported. The victim said a total of nearly $10,000 was stolen from her.

Carl Adams, 28, formerly of New London is accused of stealing neighbor Jessica Rodriguez’s tax refund and paychecks, according to the New London Day. He is also accused of forging her signature in order to cash the checks. (To sign up for New London breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Rodriguez reported to police her tax refund had been deposited by Adams on March 1, the New London Day reported. Rodriguez also told officers in December 2016 she suspected a paycheck that never arrived was taken by Adams.
