Man Dead After Shooting In New London: PD

NEW LONDON, CT — Police said they are investigating after a man was shot and killed in New London early Monday morning. The incident occurred in the area of Elms Street and Garfield Avenue at approximately 1:04 a.m.

Police said the victim was found lying on the ground with a gunshot wound, and he was immediately given medical attention. He was subsequently transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased by a hospital physician, according to a release.

Police said the victim was identified as Joshua Fine, 27, of New London. Both the New London States Attorney’s Office and the Office of Chief Medical Examiner were notified, police said.
