Victim Identified In New London Shooting: Police

A man is dead following a shooting Tuesday night in New London.

NEW LONDON, CT — A man was killed in a shooting in New London on Wednesday night, according to police. Police responded at 10:35 p.m. to reports of shots fired in the area of Colman Street and West Pleasant Street.

Police arrived and treated a man who had sustained life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for treatment but was later pronounced dead.

Police identified the victim as Abdiel Rodriguez, 25, of New London.

Police said that the incident doesn't appear to be a random act and is under investigation.
