Man Faces Charges In Shooting, New London Police Say

Police arrested a New London man this week in connection with a shooting investigation.

NEW LONDON, CT — A man is facing charges in connection with a shooting in New London, according to police.

A victim flagged down a police officer March 15, saying that he had been shot at.

The victim directed officers to where the shooting happened, in the area of Rosemary Street and Bolles Avenue. Officers recovered several spent shell cartridges.

Following a lengthy investigation, police identified a suspect, and an arrest warrant was signed by a judge.

Thomas Manuel, 25, of New London, was charged with first-degree attempt to commit criminal assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, and illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle.

He was arrested Tuesday and released after posting a $250,000 surety bond. Manuel is scheduled to appear in court July 14.

The investigation remains active.
