NEW LONDON, CT - Christopher Petteway will stand trial in the fatal stabbing of his former partner after a group of experts found him competent to understand the charges against him, the Day reported. Court officials had learned that Petteway, 42, had a history of mental illness and a judge in the case ordered the competency evaluation.
Petteway has been held in lieu of $2,050,000 since he allegedly murdered Robert Parise, 63, of New London, on Oct. 4.
Petteway has pleaded not guilty to murder and a violation of a protective order. Read the full story in the Day.
