NEW LONDON, CT - A security officer at Connecticut College recently saved a man’s life while the man was having a heart attack, The Day reported.
Eric Roode used an automatic external defibrillator device Tuesday on a colleague who was having a heart attack, according to The Day. He had found the 68-year-old man, another employee of the college, in a dorm showing signs of a heart attack.
Roode has worked for the college for almost 11 years, The Day reported. Police said the victim began breathing and regained a pulse after medical crews took him to the hospital, and was awake and talking by Tuesday evening.
