Man Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison, Deportation for Killing Roommate in New London

The suspect claimed throughout his sentencing that he was being treated unfairly.

NEW LONDON, CT - A 32-year old man charged with killing his roommate has been sentenced to a dozen years in prison and deportation, The Day reported.

Sebastian Tzampop, 33, had pleaded guilty to murdering his roommate on Christmas Day 2013, according to The Day. He claimed throughout his sentencing that he was being treated unfairly, and that he wanted to be deported immediately.

The suspect had emigrated from the same village in Guatemala with the victim, 39-year-old Antonio Chajon, The Day reported. He faces deportation immediately after his sentence, as he was in this country illegally.
