Man Shot, Injured In New London

A man was shot in New London early Monday morning, according to police.

NEW LONDON, CT — A man was shot and injured in New London early Monday morning, according to a police statement. Police received the call at 2:45 a.m. for a report of shots fired in the area of Montauk Avenue and Denison Avenue.

Police arrived and found shell casings at the scene. Shortly after, a gunshot wound victim was brought to the emergency room at Backus Hospital in Norwich.

The victim reported having been shot in New London. Police said the incident does not appear to be a random act and the victim was reported to be in stable condition.
