Man Strikes Woman With Gun, Shot Fired In New London Incident

Police are investigating after a woman was struck with a gun and injured early Monday morning.

NEW LONDON, CT — A woman was injured when a man struck her with a gun early Monday morning, according to police. Police responded to the call at 6:52 a.m. in the area of Eastern Avenue and Adelaide Street.

Police found evidence at the scene supporting the initial report. The woman had been hit in the head with a gun. A gunshot had also been fired during the incident which did not strike the victim.

The victim was transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
