Mitchell College Aspiring Educators Club Sets Up Free Books Library

Spreads love of reading to children of customers at the Clothes-Pin Laundromat

Students from the Aspiring Educators Club at Mitchell College have established a “Free Books Library” at the Clothes-Pin Laundromat on 52 Ocean Avenue in New London. The books are available to children accompanying family members doing laundry.

The vibrant student leaders intend to become teachers and want to spread the love of reading to children.

Representing the club at the library set-up were Olivia DeLoach, president, Ashley Septelka, vice president and Tyelisa Wilson, incoming president.

Dr. Christopher Clouet, Mitchell College professor and club advisor, said, "These excellent students understand that education happens not only in school, but in the community as well. It is an honor for me to work with these future teachers."
