Mitchell College in New London Grieves Loss of Alumna and Intern

The Mitchell community is deeply saddened by the loss of Stephanie Turowski ’15, a Mitchell alumna who worked at the College as an AmeriCorp VISTA intern on the Integrative Career Development team, who was involved in car crash on December 26, 2016 and suffered fatal injuries.

Through her years as a student and her work at the College following graduation, Stephanie shared her encouraging, positive, and caring nature with faculty, staff and students. The thoughts and sympathy of the entire Mitchell community are with the Turowski family in this difficult time.

The College community is discussing how to honor Stephanie and recognize her valued role in the Mitchell community and the special relationships she had with faculty, staff and students. Unfortunately, Stephanie’s mother was seriously injured in the crash and the Turowski family is waiting for her health to improve before scheduling a public service.

Any College events honoring Stephanie will be held after all students have returned to campus for the spring semester beginning on January 19.
