Mold Reported In Coast Guard Academy Dorms: Report
Coast Guard Academy officials said they are developing a plan to prevent the mold from returning.

NEW LONDON, CT — Coast Guard Academy officials said humid weather and air conditioning are most likely to blame for mold growing in several rooms in the main residence hall on campus, the New London Day reported. Officials sent a letter to members of the academy's parents association to inform them of the issue.
According to the New London Day, officials said the annex where most reports of mold have come from did not have air conditioning until five years ago, so the rooms were not designed for it. The academy has hired a contractor to clean the rooms, and officials are developing a plan to prevent the mold from returning.
